this weekend @ sfbc - April 18th

sfbc family,

I know its Spring, not because the grass is growing, the flowers are blooming, or the leaves have suddenly appeared on the trees. I know it is Spring because the church is busy with activity.

From now until Memorial Day there will be something special on a weekend that involves our church family. This Sunday at 11am, we will have some special guests, from the Lincoln Presenters who will share some special music and history with us. This Sunday the 8:30 and the 11 service will be really different. I am preaching at 8:30, at 11am it will be more of a devotional summary. Both services will be unique. The 8:30am service is off to a great start and our goal is to continue to see about 125 - 150 people attend that service. I believe this service could soon reach 200 in worship. Please be faithful to attend worship at sfbc each Sunday morning.

Here is a quick overview of coming Sunday activities

April 25th - Clifton Phelps, (Caleb's Brother), is our guest. 8:30am & 11am.

May 2nd - Larue County Sports Day - we will be recognizing winter and spring sports teams 11am.

May 9th - Mother's Day

May 16th - Graduate Day - High School Seniors during the 11am worship 11am

May 23rd - AWANA awards at 6pm

May 30th - Memorial Day

We will be busy but these will be good days. Please plan to faithfully attend each weekend.

One thing I would like to challenge you about is to support the MFUGE Fund Raiser at Paula's. We need to sell out the tickets this weekend. Dewayne is worried, so lets buy them all this Sunday. It supports our students, is a great meal, you can buy tickets as a gift. Tonya and I will be buying two extra and inviting a couple to attend with us. Please South Fork let's do this. Paula gives us her restaurant for a night each year to allow us to provide a wonderful dinner and everything given is for MFUGE. You might say $15 is a lot for a meal. But you aren't just getting a meal, you are investing in our Students. There are 3 times to choose from 5pm, 6pm, or 7pm. Let's do this for God, our students, and for missions. Let's also show Dewayne that he doesn't have to worry. He will be amazed. You can purchase tickets after either service this weekend.

See you on Sunday,
Bro Norm

MFUGE Dinner at Paula's - April 24th
There are a limited amount of tickets available for dinner at Paula's Hot Biscuit in Hodgenville. The tickets are $15 and the meal is Pork Tenderloin, sides, drink and dessert. Here is the great thing, the $15 dollars will be donated to our MFUGE Student Mission Trip. You have sittings to choose from 5pm, 6pm, or 7pm. Support our students, have a great meal and wonderful fellowship all at the same time. Please see Dewayne Gibson or Theresa Banks to buy a ticket(s).

Card Team / Welcome Team Meeting Sunday night
Those who signed up for or would like to serve in either of these ministries. Please attend a team meeting on April 18th at 7pm. We will meet in the AWANA room.

Lynn Association WMU Meeting
We will host the WMU quarterly meeting on Tuesday, April 20th at 7pm. We will be providing a meal for those attending, a potato bar and desserts. Please see Melissa Adams, Doris Jean Holleran, or Norma Jean McDonald for more information. All women are invited.

Class of 2010
We will be celebrating with our High School Graduates on Sunday, May 16th. We will recognize them during morning worship and host a reception in the fellowship hall that afternoon. We want to be sure we have the names of all our graduating seniors including any college graduates. Please see Dewayne, Theresa Banks, or call Pam at our church office to be sure you are on our list of graduates. Thank you!

Clifton Phelps Special Guest
On Sunday, April 25th, we will host Clifton Phelps and his family. He will be sharing his story and commitment to serve God as a career missionary in India. He will be teaching church planters in an area of great persecution. It is a challenging and yet encouraging story to hear. Clifton will be speaking at both the 8:30am and the 11am service.
